Aah, I finally finished it! I've had this one for awhile now, I'm not sure why I ever stopped working on it, because it really wasn't terribly difficult. The hardest part was probably the darker half of the shading. I thought for like an hour about how to make it seem more like the fire was casting the shadows. Then I realized that I should use purple, the compliment of the yellow highlights. It was almost as if art class had taught me NOTHING.

The magic circle wasn't hard, but it sure was time consuming. It has a bit of Card Captor Sakura influence, namely the center star. When looking for references, over half of them were the CCS one, or were CCS based. You can't see it, but in the very center of the circle is the same kanji as is on Anya's uh.. dangly clothy bit. I have no idea what to call that. Its 'hi', which means fire. The very outer ring is all nordic runes, made with brushes from here. (I'm thinking of adding in a bunch of Norse mythology to SfS... plus they just look awesome, mmkay?) The middle texty ring is pretty much unreadable... and it is so on purpose. Its just a weird font thats really difficult to read. But what it says, if you must know, is lyrics from a song I was listening to as I made it... theres really no relevance to the peice at all. Reborn angels to bring the sun down on this world, and demons wasted as they're running through red signs-- from the black, I know you're finding your way back home. From Above The Wreckage by Dishwalla. (lame name, I know). The inner text circle has even LESS relevance. I dont even remember what it says, but it included phrases like "mountain dew is delicious" and "crispy chicken tenders." I have no idea where it all came from, honestly.

Ummm. I made the fire with brushes from here. That kid's got some neat brushes, I must say. I have several sets downloaded. XD
